Research Interests
My interests center on the design of appropriate media for different users in a variety of information environments.Specifically, I do research the interactive digital note-taking system, the digital archives of cultural heritage and digital libraries.

The special lecture to students of Tsurumi University by Allison Zhang of the Library of Congress, US
Ms Allison Zhang who is a metadata manager of World Digital Library Project in the Library of Congress lectured to students and gave some practise to students for choosing appropreate metadata.

Participated and made two presentations in the 78th International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) General Conference and Assembly held in Helsinki, Finland.
One paper titled "A critical role of Academic Advisory Service in a part of the learning commons facility" was presented in Session 180(Innovative libraries: transforming our communities) organized by the Asia and Oceania Section. The other paper titled "Improving library use by Tsurumi University students: a collaborative effort among educators, librarians and students" was presented in Session 213(Building collaboration between LIS educators and practitioners in developing countries: transcending barriers, creating opportunities) organized by the LIS Education in Developing Countries Special Interest Group.

Five graduate students from Information & Communications Department,Shih Hsin University (SHU) in Taipei, Taiwan visited Library, Archival and Information Studies Department,Tsurumi University for Summer Internship from July 1 to July 15, 2012.

Dr. Ismail Abdullahi (Associate Professor, School of Library and Information Sciences, North Carolina Central University) visited to Tsurumi University for the lecture to our students and the open seminar.Dr. Ismail Abdullahi gave the lecture to our students titiled "Library and Information Science in the US", and also he gave the open seminar to our almin and fellows titled "Creation of information and Knowledge Societies:The Role of Libraries and Librarians".

International Conference on Asia-Pacific Digital Libraries (ICADL 2011) was held on Oct 24-27, 2011 in Beijing, China. The conference focused "Digital Libraries -- for Culture Heritage, Knowledge Dissemination, and Future Creation". I presented on the poster session titiled "Effect of the Number of Comments Inserted by Students during Each Lecture on Their Grades in the Course".

I gave a presentation titled "Trends of Cloud Computing in Educational Area in Japan." on the Conference on Information and Communications:Knowledge management with Competitive Intelligence held on 21st October, 2011. Shih Hsin University, Taipei, Taiwan. The international conference has beeen held in commemoration as the 10-year celebration of the Department of Information and Communication, Shih Hsin University.
