Biography
Takashi Nagatsuka has been dean of the Faculty of Literature, Tsurumi University since April 2009. Aside from the work of dean, he is responsible for the education on the Library and Information Science bachelor’s program.
Takashi Nagatsuka joined a professor of Tsurumi University in 2004. Before joining the Dept. of Library, Archival and Information Studies, Tsurumi University in 2004, he had been worked as a vice president or manager in information industry for over 20 years. He also teaches the courses of Information Studies at Tokyo University of Agriculture since 1988 to present. He played a leadership role in information industry as the president of Database Industry Association in Japan from 2001 to 2004.
Takashi Nagatsuka has been active in a number of professional organizations including, an Executive Committee Member in International Association of Agricultural Information Specialists (IAALD)from 2005 to 2010, a Standing Committee Member of Information Technology in International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) from 2005 to 2009, a Standing Committee Member of Asia & Oceania in International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) from 2011 to present and a member of Program Committee in the International Conference of Asian Digital Library( ICADL) from 2005 to present.
Takashi Nagatsuka has been also active in the academic societies in Japan including a vice president of the Japanese Society for Information and Media Studies from 2006 to present and a vice president of Japan Society of Information and Knowledge from 2010 to present. He served as a co-chair of the World Conference on Agricultural Information and IT IAALD-AFITA-WCCA 2008 held in Japan.
