第二歯科保存学教室の紹介
第二歯科保存学教室は歯周治療学と歯内治療学について研究、教育および診療を行っている講座です。
歯周治療は歯肉からの出血などの炎症症状を示す歯肉炎や歯を支持している骨(歯槽骨)が吸収して歯のぐらつきを引き起こす歯周病や口臭等の治療および予防を行います。
歯内療法は歯の神経の病気(歯髄炎)や歯根の先端周囲の骨の中にできた化膿性の病気(根尖性歯周炎)の治療を行います。外傷により脱落や破折を起こした歯の治療や歯がしみる象牙質知覚過敏症の治療も行います。
歯周治療(歯肉炎や歯周炎の治療)
歯肉炎や歯周炎は歯の表面に付着している歯垢(プラーク)や歯石が原因で引き起こされる炎症です。初期の基本治療として歯磨き指導(プラークコントロール)や歯石除去を行い、症状の進行が激しい場合には、歯周外科治療や歯周組織再生療法(GTR法、エムドゲイン、PRP等)を行います。
歯内治療(歯髄炎や根尖性歯周炎の治療)
歯髄炎はう蝕の進行や外来刺激などが原因で、歯の神経(歯髄)に起こる炎症で激しい痛みを伴うこともあります。初期の場合は歯髄炎症を抑える保存療法を行い、痛みが治まらない場合には歯髄の除去療法を行います。根尖性歯周炎は、う蝕がさらに進行し神経に細菌が感染して歯の神経が死んでしまうことにより、歯根の先端付近にできる化膿性の病気です。根尖性歯周炎の原因となっている感染して死んでしまった歯髄を除去し、歯の神経の管(根管)から汚染物をきれいに除去する感染根管治療を行います。
